Politicking

Some breaking news in politics, as it seems that George Allen is going to concede, thus giving Democrats control of the Senate, in addition to controlling the House. Of course, Allen will not concede easily. I expect the concession speech to be laden with macaca's and other vague ethnic slurs. I pretty much hear this guy's a huge prick. Why, Virginia, was this election so close?

In other news, Old Rummy himself will be resigning his position as Destroyer of the World. Or Secretary of Destruction. Dude Who Ruins Our Country by Ruining Others. Poor Planner. Funny story, I heard this guy had a dinner party where he invited 40 people but only had enough utensils and dinnerware for 30, and he only had enough food for 25 people, and then he said that people want a lot of things but just because they want them doesn't mean they'll get them. The dinner party went on for roughly 3 years, and he was always claiming it was a success. Then he left before everyone else.

Seriously, how does this guy get off so easy? He is commanding the army that was led into Iraq (voted on by a Republican Congress, mind you) for 3 years, and for about 2.5 years, things are going miserably. He gets surly when people say things like he has failed. And now he's just resigning? Just like that, he gets out? I heard this quote at his press conference: "Man, it looks like I did some shit. Well, I'm gonna get out. Later bitches."

So now we're left with Bush to select someone to fix this problem? That's probably worse than Rumsfeld keeping the job. Since Bush is incompetent and all.

Speaking of Bush, anybody notice the 180 he's pulled immediately after Congress has changed power? Suddently he's being all open-minded and shit. That's not the Bush I know and didn't vote for. Suddenly he says he's willing to listen to the Democrats' ideas? I'm not buying it. He's probably just trying to save face for the Republican party, since, you know, America has said they hate the Republicans (except that fucking Dennis Hastert! Seriously Illinois' 14th district, what is your fucking problem??).

In all honesty, perhaps this election was a confirmation that democracy still kind of works. Which is good. I don't really expect anything of significance to happen as long as Bush is president, but if nothing else, it's a notice to the fatcats and crumbums on Capitol Hill that they need to stop being stupid bitches and actually do something. And, you know, stop harassing the pages. They get accused of being gay enough because of volunteering to be pages.
