Weekend

Oh man. What a weekend. Weekends like this (or really, most weekends) are the exact reason that I hate coming back to Peoria from Chicago. But, I feel relatively confident that I'll have a new job and be living in the city by 2007. Hopefully. And then these weekends (or close to that) can happen all the time.

So I get to Chicago Friday night and begin asking questions about beer. Instead of giving my input as to where we could go I was told to shower, and then we'd have plans and possibly beer. Got out of the shower, no beer. So we walked to get beer. 3 or 4 beers later, we headed out. All in all I think it was a pretty uneventful night. And I say that because I don't remember much of it at all. I think I remember most of the night actually, but it starts to get a little hazy around the time we left the bar. Which was pretty early. So, of course we headed to El Burrito, and I could barely eat any of it (I don't know what my problem is lately) and then took a cab home.

Woke up Saturday at 9:30. Why you ask? Well, the plan was to go see Borat downtown at 11:20. So everybody gets ready and we head downtown. I'm feeling slightly hungover, and I've not had anything to eat or drink. The movie was pretty awesome, and very ridiculous. Following the movie we got lunch, saw puppies (I'm going to need a dog I think) and then went home. I watched the Illini game while everyone else was getting ready and/or sleeping, and then we left a little after 6:30. Oh, also, I started drinking at 4.

So, the plan for the night involved the birthday celebration of both Bootz and Soupapants. For this celebration, they rented a party bus. So 22 of their closest friends (or so) came on the bus for drinks and fun before heading out for the night. So, we get to the bus, and immediately I start drinking. First stop of the night was at Navy Pier for a scavenger hunt. Team Sexy Donkeys dominated the competition and won first place, and it's no surprise we did. Also, we were drinking while running around Navy Pier, and public drunkenness is awesome.

So then we got back on the bus, and this is definitely where the night starts to get hazy for me. Someone asked me how many beers I'd had, and I of course had lost count. Well, we left Navy Pier and drove to Wiener Circle. Perhaps I should point out that I hadn't eaten anything since lunch, and by this point I was at nearly 5 hours of drinking. So, I got one hot dog. Brilliant. If you've not been to Wiener Circle, then you don't know that they're mean to you there. Well, since I'm such a picky eater, they had an easy time making fun of me. And I was really enjoying it.

So, obviously this is about where the night's clear memories come to an end. We got to the bar at like 10:30 or 10:45. We went to Lakeview Broadcasting Company, which if you don't know is on Halsted. And you probably do know what that means. I thought there were supposed to be drink specials, and I'm not sure if there were or not, but beer was $4. Here's what I remember clearly: sitting by the coats for a couple minutes, and being angry about it; finding the bathroom; ordering beer (i have no idea how many obviously); walking around a lot; dancing a little; seeing Soupapants' sister and sister's friend fall over while dancing. I have no clear memories other than that I don't think. I just remember walking around, but I'm not really sure who I talked to or what I did for a large majority of the night. We were there like 3 hours. I remember like maybe 30 minutes. I was told one other thing that happened, shortly after we got there. But, what was it again? Hmm. We'll just say that 'someone' from the party bus 'puked' on the 'stairs' at LBC before getting into the 'bathroom' and we'll leave it at that. Oh, but it wasn't me, don't worry.

So, I guess at some point we left LBC, although I have no idea what time it was. I think it was around 2. Well, we took a cab home, which I don't remember, and we drove right past El Burrito. Well, I was hungry, and so was Soupapants' sister, so we decided to walk back to El Burrito once we got home. I'm not really sure how the chain of events occurred, but that was what happened. Then we got back home, ate and passed out.

Woke up at like 9 on Sunday. I might have still been drunk when I woke up (for some reason I think I had a beer when we got back Saturday night) but I never really felt too hungover. It was an awesome night and I assume by remembering very little that I had an awesome time. And now I plan on taking a little break from Chicago to save money for moving. Of course, it remains to be seen if I can handle the utter boredom of Peoria.
